Pros and cons to a professionally worded "F you" letter when you resign
Exactly what it sounds like. I've lined up my next role and I REALLY want to say a professional f you for the latest way my narcissist boss has tried to screw me over.
I've been at this place for only 6 months so I don't have to include them in my resume--but there are some accomplishments that would be helpful to have in there, so I might keep it in.
But of course if a future place contacts them...not great to have it in writing. But he would give me a shit reference anyway, because narcissist. So if I leave this stay in my resume, my best hope would be that they don't check references.
On the other hand, if I leave it off my resume, there's less chance that it could bite me, but I hear the old "this industry is small, these things travel" adage etc etc etc.
Part of me just wants to take the high road. But part of me feels like I always take the goddamned high road and this is a very low stakes way to stand up to a bully, for once in my life.
Love to hear what people have done, and how they felt about it afterwards.
