Some tips:
-Stay healthy; get plenty of sleep, nutritional non-fatty meals and water the day before.
-Do exercise the day before, maybe even prior to get the blood flowing but refrain from physical excursion after donation.
-I didn’t know this but it helps to bring something to squeeze while donating, like a stress ball or something similar (squishy textured, soft, small object.) I was provided with something like a cut pool noodle/giant packing tube/type object on my first day but I’ve seen others bring their own items.
-You’ll need proof of address, like mail dated within 60 days, (my center let me show a bank statement on my phone. Make sure your address is visible in the statement,) as well as an ID and social security card to register.
-Set aside 2.5hrs for a physical exam and training videos the first day you donate, then every time you donate will go a lot faster - less than an hour. My second day was about 45 mins.
