Goldfish with weather loaches?

Not planning on getting any new additions right now, not until I've upgraded my tanks, might even wait until I upgrade my 70 gallon, and then put them in the next size up.... but. I only just heard that these beauties can cohouse with goldies?? I keep shubunkins and commons, both fast swimming fish that shouldn't be easily outcompeted for food etc. Does anyone have experience they can share of keeping these guys together?

Also, is it true they're social, or is that more other species of loaches? I was thinking of getting just 2 due to their size, but could maybe house three if necessary. I always like to do my research well in advance for new species, so feel free to info dump if you want!
