Description:
Loop 14: Do Not Rewind is a first-person psychological horror game with a VHS / found-footage aesthetic. You're trapped in a time loop inside an old Victorian house, and each loop you have to carefully observe every room to spot what's changed — an object moved, a light behaving differently, a door that shouldn't be open. Get it wrong and the loop resets, with worse consequences each time.
The biggest threat is a creature that works on SCP-173 logic: it can't move while you're looking at it, but the moment you look away, anything could've changed. That constant "did it just move?" paranoia is the core of the tension, and it's what drives the whole 14-loop structure — every loop resembles the one before it, but none of them are ever exactly the same.
There are jumpscares too, but most of the dread comes from observation and uncertainty rather than cheap scares — you never quite know when you're actually safe. The game is built in Unreal Engine 5, with dark, minimal lighting and atmospheric sound design, along with glitch effects that intensify as the character's mind starts to unravel across the loops.
It's completely free to play, no payments involved. Would really appreciate feedback, especially on the anomaly detection pacing — trying to find the right balance between "too obvious" and "too obscure."
Free to Play Status: [X] Free to play
Involvement: Solo developer — I designed and built the game myself in Unreal Engine 5, including all the Blueprint systems (loop mechanic, inventory, interaction, glitch effects). I also directed the promotional video linked above.
