**How this started**

I'm building a game, and I got buried. Forty animations, half of them called `Take 001`, the other half locked inside FBX files. Unity will happily preview any one of them, in a small window, once you've clicked it. So finding the right clip meant clicking through the whole project one at a time, and trying to remember what number six looked like by the time I reached number twenty.

Somewhere around the two hundredth time I did that, I wrote myself a browser that shows all of them at once, playing, on my own character. 🎬

**What's in it**

* Every clip is an animated thumbnail you can scrub, playing on your character. Enough to tell `attack_02` from `attack_03` on a wall of three hundred clips, at a glance, without playing either of them.
* Pose in the Scene view. The foot slides on the landing, the hand clips through the shield: scrub to the frame, grab the bone, fix it. The keys go straight into the clip. No FBX round trip, no reimport, no afternoon lost to a three degree correction.
* Animation Layers, which are stacked passes inside one clip. An idle carries its breathing on one layer, the blink and jaw on the next, a weapon hand offset on a third. Turn the breathing down to 40%, mute the face while you fix the hips. No pass ever overwrites another, and you can lift a layer off and drop it onto a completely different animation.
* Version history. Snapshot before the risky take, and the timing you nailed on Tuesday is still there on Friday when the wilder version turns out to be too wild.
* Audio and spawn events pinned to the frame they actually happen on. A four step run carries a footfall on every contact instead of an offset you guessed at in code.
* Mirror a whole clip in one step. It reads your rig's real rest pose, so skeletons that were never built as clean reflections still come out right.
* Your clips stay ordinary `.anim` files. Uninstall this tomorrow and every animation still works. No custom format, nothing held hostage.
