Hell is actually the LinkedIn Newsfeed
As someone that has spent untold hours watching LinkedIn like a hawk over the last several months I have absolutely and truly come to hate it. Like I think it is the worst social media website specifically because it SHOULD not function like a social media website but a place for jobseekers and recruiters to connect - yet its turned into a hellish landscape.
-
Desperate jobseekers. I get it. I feel that in some ways too. But posting your GoFundMe and expecting a reputable company to see that and not view you as a liability is beyond me. And the consistent complaints about no callbacks and then the person shares a 10 page resume really PMO. Like there is so much content out there about how to format a resume that if you just applied yourself even a little bit...well, you still might not hear back but at least TRY! Again, I get it...but its such a drag when I'm already feeling down.

Fake LinkedInfluencers. People posting messages for "job seekers" but have their green banner up to...please STFU! If you knew better you'd be doing better too, and you're not, you're just like us, no one wants to hear ts. Also tired of seeing stupid roleplay TikTok style videos "a recruiter rejecting you" and its some dumb broad making stupid statements about how unqualified you are, I think people don't realize that some people are literally holding on by a thread mentally...its not funny, no one cares! And honorable mention to all the recruiters that were assitant recruiting coordinators 10 years ago now making recruiter content in their cars on their lunch breaks talking about "here's why you're not getting hired..." PLEASE STOP!

Recruiter LinkedInfluencers. So tired of everyday seeing some new bs about how to get hired in 2026 saying things like "you can't fake conviction" WHY THE HELL DO I NEED TO BE CONVICTED ABOUT A JOB? I literally just want to pay my bills. If I prove I can do the job that should absolutely be enough. This is the one that bugs me the most and I don't understand why companies wouldn't fire these people. I'm going to start screenshotting these dumb ahh posts when I see them and following the person so that when they inevitably find themselves on the chopping block I can comment on their posts with the dumb ass shit they were saying. Recruiters really deflect their inability to do their job. What happened to the days of recruiters knowing the industry they were in and what signals to look for on a resume, and just reaching out to people that met those signals? Now its you've got to tailor each resume, use the exact keywords but make it genuine, don't use AI but also make sure its actually perfectly worded, enough whitespace but not too bare, have the accurate skills, make sure to have the right information in the right eye zones that a recruiter is going to quickly scan...are recruiters babies? Do they not literally have a job to do? Do these companies actually want to hire people?

Just the whole commoditization of job searching as a whole. The fact that it is so rampant is just a testament to how the world is functioning right now. And so many of the people posting about it just want virality at any cost, because we're all at our wits end. It literally shouldn't be like this
