Anyone else off social media?

If so I’d love your thoughts. My child’s teacher has shared that she will be running an Instagram account (private) to upload photos and videos and even flyers for class events like sing alongs, holiday parties, etc. I’ve been off Instagram and Facebook for 6 years and I’ve become pretty against posting my kids there. I don’t want their likeness out there for a number of reasons, including not wanting to create a digital footprint before they even understand what the internet is.

What would you say to the teacher? Would you create an acct just to follow for the school year, and say nothing about photos of your kid being posted? Or would you voice your disagreement with the whole thing? There’s 15 other kids and seems that all other parents have no issue. I hate to be that person but here we are! I’d also hate to create a situation where my kid may be excluded from class photos etc due to my voicing an opinion here.
