3/4 euploid after multiple untested transfer failures — should I investigate with more testing?
We’ve really been through the wringer with IVF. My husband was diagnosed with severe male factor infertility and had to undergo an mTESE to retrieve sperm.
I’ve done several egg retrievals, which have actually yielded great numbers, and at one point we had 7 embryos, so we moved forward with transfers without PGT-A testing.
Unfortunately, all 7 embryos failed to result in an ongoing pregnancy:
1 miscarriage at 7 weeks
2 double-embryo transfers that resulted in chemical pregnancies
2 failed implantations
(Not necessarily in that order.)
Fast forward to today, and we’re very happy to report that 3 out of our 4 embryos came back euploid, which feels exceptional given our history. We had been attributing many of our previous failures to possible chromosomal issues, especially given the severity of the male factor.
I’ve also had a pretty extensive workup, and everything has looked great:
Hysterscopy and endometrial biopsy
Recurrent pregnancy loss bloodwork
Excellent response to medications
Consistently excellent lining
Now that we finally have these euploid embryos, I’m feeling very nervous about transferring and wondering if there could be something else going on that we haven’t identified yet — specifically, the possibility of silent endometriosis or another implantation-related issue.
For those who have been in a similar situation, would you recommend any additional or more extensive testing at this point? Or would you consider suppression before transfer, given my history? Or since this is the first known eupiod do we go ahead and transfer?
I don’t have any symptoms and nothing from testing leads us to believe there’s something more but it’s hard to believe 0/7 worked and we now have such a high eupiod rate
I’d really appreciate any insight or experiences.
