Bringing Widget Stacking to Stock Android without 3rd party launchers (WidgetDeck)
Almost 5 years ago, iOS introduced Widget Stacking, and it was really amazing because you could reclaim screen space for other things. But this never fully caught on in stock Android—it's mostly limited to certain OEM skins and 3rd-party launchers. This left those of us who love the clean, stock Android experience in a void.
So I set out and built WidgetDeck. This app gives you the ability to stack custom-built widgets on stock Android so you can slowly start to regain that lost home screen real estate 😁.
Currently, the app has 8 widgets to choose from, with more coming down the line.
Oh, fun fact: this is the 5th app I have pushed to the Play Store, and it's the first one to hit 1,000+ downloads!
So if you have an Android device, go ahead and take it for a spin—let me know your thoughts or any widget requests you'd love to see next:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.srivats.widgetdeck
