New update very CPU intensive? Thermal issues

I can't really play the game anymore, my CPU is thermally throttling in the server browser before I've even joined a game. I'm not berating the game, I'm just looking for anyone with a similar experience or solutions? Coolers clean, new paste etc it's just something about this new update really doesnt like my CPU.
