S-I-L was on that NE Regional that broke down

What a mess. He was due into Richmond at 4:52 but that was not to happen. Train broke down south of Wilmington and it took over 2 hours to transfer, via a plank, to another train. Which was, of course, already full.
When it was announced that the replacement train was going to directly to DC, skipping the intermediate stations, the crowd went wild. Someone called 911 and said they were being held hostage by Amtrak.

So Amtrak had to make all the regularly scheduled stops and S-I-L then had to change trains in DC to make it down to Richmond. Finally made it there at 8:50 pm just 4 hours late.

What a fiasco
