What makes the ending of the live action Lilo and Stitch so hated?

Discussion

The main critism I see about the ending is that it contricts the phrase "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten" And I get to an extent why people think it does but I see flaws with that critism. First of all, it's not like Nani is just completely abandoning Lilo at all, in the ending of the movie we get to see her visiting Lilo with the portal gun. And secondly, it just feels like people are ignoring the fact that Nani has a career dream that she wants to study for. And that people just want her to abandon it to stay with Lilo so the meaning is true when it's still true because Nani doesn't forget Lilo at all. I get the writers could've not written the fact that Nani has that dream but I think it's a good way to say not to give up on your dreams but also not to forget everyone for it. And I thought it was well written.
