How do you organize your live-action footage before editing?

Hey folks,

For anyone who is capturing lots of live-action shots for their YouTube videos (50+ individual GoPro shots that need to be edited together, for example)... What is your current process for reviewing footage, selecting good takes, eliminating junk before you start editing? Do you do this in your editor?
