Anyone experience extreme nausea while taking Effexor for Tamoxifen side effects?

I just had a follow up with my oncologist, first one since starting Tamoxifen. I mentioned that I've been having hot flashes and she said I could try Effexor. I had already read about it so I said yes, picked up a prescription, and took it last night after dinner, along with the Tamoxifen.

Well, within an hour, I threw up so much! I haven't thrown up since a bad food bug from delivery back in 2020 so this was really alarming. I had asked the pharmacist for potential side effects and he said none, just that if I was depressed/anxious, it would help with that too.

From what I'm reading, it could be my body adjusting to the meds, but idk if I want to deal with this for another two weeks. I'll ask my oncologist if she can prescribe anything for nausea to take alongside the Effexor but I'm a little scared of it now!
