Will God answer our prayer?

My wife and I are currently in the process of looking to have children. We're both over 40 and the chances are slim but not impossible. We e been together for 18 years and we have never used any type of protection because we thought "if it happens - awesome, if not - we'll see what happens".

Once we hit our mid thirties, we really started being interested and we sent our prayers and petitions to the Lord, specifically referencing women of the Bible with like Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, Hannah, and Elizabeth. We believed that if God could bless them with children then he could do the same for us.

Now we're somewhat in doubt, we spoke to my wife's OBGYN and she referred us to a fertility clinic to do some testing on us for our options. So far, God hasn't answered our prayers but according to scriptures - why wouldn't he? We are to be fruitful and multiply, we have come to God according to **Philippians 4:6**, we are seeking and asking according to **Matthew 7:7** and we abide in Jesus as in **John 15:7**.

We're not sure what to do or how to feel about this situation, we're in it together and we just continue to pray that God is with us.
