Reference instead of Deposit

Would you guys allow references instead of deposits? I got an inquiry asking about it, I’m still ensure if I’m comfortable allowing that since I do host from my own place. I normally don’t make exceptions but this client had a pretty good intro apart from the fact that he doesn’t do deposits. Maybe I could raise my rates since I’m taking a higher risk or do a 2 location system instead of giving full address right away?
