Administrative Forbearance vs. SAVE Forbearance??
I applied for buyback 12/25 (Case #341), and I haven’t touched the account since. I received my 90 day letter from Mohela this week.
I randomly started chatting with Gemini about options (yes, whatever roast me), and Gemini mentioned that if my loans automatically switch from SAVE forbearance to administrative forbearance, then a human has likely opened my file, and placed it into administrative forbearance while they draft my buyback offer. Essentially, they are processing my application (allegedly).
Well, I checked, and it says administrative forbearance. So, my question is, does anyone know if there is any validity to this? I’m not getting my hopes up, and there’s a good chance this is completely false. But, I’m wondering if a few people can check and see what kind of forbearance their loans are In?
You have to go to loan details (Mohela) and click to expand one of the loans. It should say it under Loan Status.
