Help me find a black & white comic book/strip with two weird creatures looking for God

I'm trying to find a graphic novel or a series of connected comic strips that I've read translated in the early 2000s. Very sparse (no backgrounds I think) and childlike (but not stick figures like Dagsson). The protagonists were two creatures: one of them stupid, resembling a reptile or a dragon, with an overbite. The other was the brains of the duo but I don't remember how he looked like. I think they were tasked to find God? Or had to find him for some reason. And I remember them encountering a sign labeled „GOD“ that pointed downwards and the stupid one said something like: „Oh, God is an ant?“ And when they eventually do find God, it's this tangle of intestines with one eye or something similar...

The whole thing was quite offbeat and very funny. Somehow it just sprang out of my memory and now my mind is killing me trying to recall what it actually was!
