55-250 replacement?

Hi everyone I’m new to this subreddit!
Im looking for some advice on what lens I should get!
I was working with an R10 and recently upgraded to an R6iii but im missing my EF-S 55-250 I tried the 70-200 but I find it heavy and hard to work with for long periods of time, I do mostly mid range sports.

I do use my 55-250 with an adapter on the r6iii but its not the same.

Any suggestions on what to buy next?
