Has anyone else done significantly worse than they were predicted this year?

UCAS Burnt Bread 🍞 (Rejections)

I'm honestly still in shock over my results and wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I was predicted ABB in Geography, Biology and Chemistry, with the hopes of applying for Veterinary medicine this October, but I ended up getting a B in geography, a D in biology and an E in chemistry.
For context, at GCSE I got an 8 in Geography, a 7 in chemistry (1 mark off an 8) and a 7 in biology, so my minimum expected grades were BBB.

It seems like for chemistry, the grade boundaries have gone up by around 20 marks. I genuinely wasn't expecting this and I feel like the grade boundaries have completely screwed me over and I'm just really upset and confused by this situation.

I've looked through clearing as well and I can't find any decent courses that could give me a pathway to even do postgraduate veterinary medicine and I'm very limited to what I can apply to due to my D and E in biology and chemistry. At this point, it looks like I'm going to have to resit my A levels, as most of the courses I can actually get onto have foundation years, which will take me the same amount of time as resits, but would be insanely expensive as I’d have to pay a year of extra tuition, whereas resitting will cost me maybe a few hundred pounds.

My papers are currently being reviewed to see if they can be remarked but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Has anyone else experienced a massive drop from their predicted grades this year? I’m honestly devastated as all of my hard work obviously hasn’t been reflected in my grades and I feel like I’m going to have to work 2x as hard for resits if I want to go from E and a D to As.
