Current Engineering Technician with BSECE - Career Trajectory Questions

Career Help

For some context, I graduated two years ago with a BSECE degree and took the two years to pursue a religious study degree. I just recently started working as an Engineering Technician at a F500 aerospace corporation that develops satellite systems and space infrastructure, and I'm in their Antenna team.

For a technician job, it's not bad at all, and most of my coworkers are also BSECE grads. But I would like to move on in a reasonable timeframe to pursue an actual engineering role. I'm currently contracted with this company and historically FTE conversions take a very long time, so I don't want to stay very long.

I would just like to ask 1) What should I do during my time here to ensure that I walk away with something to talk about on my resume when applying to engineering jobs? 2) How much time should I spend here? 3) Any other advice?

Thank you!
