So how do I get a reference for a charity shop if I have no friends?

Basically as the title says. I tried applying for a job at British heart foundation. To work… for free. However, I’ve hit a roadblock as it’s asking me for a reference from an employer/ friend. Now the problem here is I fell out with all my mates months ago when I got super depressed.

Which is also the reason I wanna do this, cos no where’s employing me and I need something to do with my day😭😭😭😭

This is such a self fulfilling prophecy. Like they tell me “volunteer while ur unemployed” girl I’m trying but they’re making this very hard.

I have also been employed before mind u but my boss was actually evil and there’s no way she writes a reference for me lol.

Is there anything I can do here?
