Hey everyone,

With the release of version 2.1.0, you can now bring your own AI to SportVitals using custom API keys. If you want a highly capable AI without paying for a subscription, Google's Gemini offers an excellent free tier.

Here is a quick step-by-step guide on how to generate a free Gemini API key and configure it inside the app.

# Part 1: How to get your free Gemini API Key

1. Go to **Google AI Studio** (aistudio.google.com) on your browser.
2. Sign in using your standard Google account.
3. On the main dashboard, click on **Get API key**.
4. Click the **Create API key** button (you can create it in a new project).
5. Once generated, **copy** the long string of characters. Keep this key secure.

# Part 2: How to configure it in SportVitals

Now that you have your key, open the SportVitals app:

1. Navigate to **Settings**.
2. Tap on **Apple Intelligence**.
3. Change the AI Provider to **Gemini (Google)**.
4. **Paste** the API key you just copied.
5. **Consent** to the Cloud provider requests (this is required to allow the app to send your data to Google's servers for processing).
6. Select your model. I highly recommend choosing gemini-flash-latest or gemini-flash-lite-latest for the best balance of speed and efficiency.
7. Finally, click **Test API connection** to verify that everything is working properly.

Once the test is successful, your AI coach is fully powered by Gemini and ready to go.
