Trying to envision extreme tides and their effects
TLDR: 29x earth tides, what do?
I have been working off and on for the world building of a setting for a project where I want to explore the culture of alien creatures who, as they invent early modern optics see clear signs their moon is inhabited, and the social ripples that follow. Using some online utilities like Universe Sandbox and Artefaxian's tools and some research on minimum viable size for an atmosphere I have come to a set-up with a moon about 10x the size of Earth's moon, and a planet roughly 1.6x Earth's mass.
This leads to, massive tides. And such tides are going to have a profound effect on the societies around them. My primary species I am imagining as evolved from scavengers dwelling in the tidal zone and marshes, but I just am struggling to envision the extent of these biomes. Are these miles wide tidal marshes, or is this to a continent spanning scale?
