Jailbreaking my Kindle help
hello, I tried to jailbreak using the instructions on the Kindle Modding website by following their toolkit. It said I should use Winterbreak2.
Everything seemed to be going ok until it came to opening the item on my Kindle after I was done, it just flashed quickly and did nothing.
So then I did a legacy KUAL installation with MRPI, it gave me an egg to open but I got the error that the device is not compatible which suggested needing a 'devcert'. But to install that, it needed to update the device from setting which is not possible so I gave up there.
I'm not sure what to do now. I tried different suggestions but I just don't have the same elasticity for troubleshooting these kinds of things like I did 20 years ago and I have a headache now.
I'd appreciate any help.
My firmware version is Kindle 5.6.1.1 and BO24 which online says is Paperwhite 2012 edition. It's a hand-me-down from a friend.
I'm going to make copies of my existing books, and reset the device because I did so many things, I don't know where I am anymore.
edit: I just remembered what the actual issue with Mindbreak2 was - the experimental browser. I completely forgot, my browser version was too old to load the page required.
