Potential Match for Thousands Springs Jane Doe (1974)
Hello everyone! Just a couple of posts ago, there was a post about a possible match between Jane Doe and Corinne Groenenberg. But there is another possible match that was discussed on Websleuths, but I didn't find a word about it here. Thousands Springs Jane Doe (or TSJD) was a young woman found in the desert in rural Elko County, Nevada, on 1974. Tourists found the victim's charred remains in rural Elko County. The site was located approximately 11 miles north of Thousand Springs and about 200 feet off US Route 93. Corinne June Groenenberg was a teenager who was last seen in Modesto, California on November 1, 1973. Corinne was last seen by her family when she left her home. A friend later told police that Corinne went to the highway and began hitchhiking. They said she got into a blue or green truck driven by an unidentified man. Why I think it's possible match?
- Jane Doe is White. Corinne is White.
- Jane Doe was 5'7-5'9" and 110-130 lbs. Corinne was 5'6" and 115 lbs.
- Jane Doe has Red/Auburn hair. Corinne has brown hair, but her photo shows a strawberry/auburn shade, in my opinion.
- Jane Doe was found with clothing present but burnt. Identifiable were blue jeans, a blue-green colored blouse, and buttons that were commonly used on jackets and overalls in the 1970s. Corinne was missing in blue jeans and blue denim jacket.
- Jane Doe was 16-25 yo, and something strange is happening with Corinne's age. CADOJ says she was 16, and Charleyproject says she was 14.
- And now, the most important thing. Jane Doe had a lifetime absence of adrenal glands. Corinne had a surgical scar on her stomach. Usually, when the adrenal glands are removed, a huge scar remains. Jet doe also needed to take medications daily if it was Adisson's syndrome, Cushing's syndrome, and so on.
- And now, the circumstances: Corinne's friend saw her hitchhiking in Modesto, where she lived, on 11/01/1973. At the same time, she had blankets. Jane Doe was found 9 months later, in July 1974, off a highway in the open Nevada desert. A canister of gasoline was next to the body, but it wasn't poured over the victim, Jane Doe was doused with diesel. Could Corinne have gotten into a truck that was described as being blue-green in color (as hinted at by the Peterbilt key mentioned in a 1998 article), and then the driver tried to do something to Corinne, and then killed and dumped her in Nevada? It's a long distance, but don't forget – it's the 1970s.
Plus: I think TSJD, Starr Valley, and Devil Gate (I've already written a post about her as a possible match with Deborah Hudler) Jane Doe are related to each other because of the same location, hair color/shade, common characteristics, and time of their death. What do you think about it? Should I submit it? Thanks for reading!
