Can’t get voice chat to work Xbox series S

I have my mic plugged in and have checked the feedback with a Xbox party that works and have left the party, when I go into a match tho I can’t hear anyone and no one can hear me, the audio doesn’t register in the bottom right with my name tag to, any fixes ? I’ve scoured the settings but I’m useless at these things, thank you!
