Photoshoot for my cookies because I am SO proud!

I followed the Modern Honey Levain Bakery Chocolate Chip Crush Cookies recipe but modified it to make dark chocolate + peanut butter + nuts.

I subbed ½ cup regular flour for ½ cup dark cocoa powder and added 1 extra egg yolk even though I may not have needed it. I also swapped the chocolate chips for Reeses peanut butter chips and swapped the walnuts for pecans and pumpkin seeds which are my personal favorite nuts.

I have only made cookies from scratch maybe 3 times in my life and they were never remotely close to noteworthy. I decided I really, really wanted to try my hand at these as my birthday treat and love how they came out. Will definitely make more!

It was also my first time modifying a recipe, even if it was a very mild modification. I now want to attempt a pumpkin pie version and have already made some notes for recipe adjustments after reading up on some different things. I am planning to make the pumpkin pie 'filling' separately and adding a divot to the top of the giant cookie balls to add the filling to about \~7 minutes after they've cooked in the oven. I also want to swap the chocolate chips for white chocolate chips and use pie crust crumbles instead of nuts - will see how it goes and report back here regardless of failure or success!

First go at Levain cookies - I never bake cookies so I am quite chuffed! This is the most delicious cookie I've ever tasted
