IS CCNA A GOOD ROUTE TO BE NETWORK ENGINEER

So I've worked at a tech company as a project coordinator in network infra for about 3 years. Leading projects for rack delivery, working with data centers, migrations, and etc. I've been interested in becoming a network engineer because I find it all very fascinating. I studied public policy in college. Is CCNA a good route or are there alternative certs or better certs I should look into?
