Measuring my discipline = a visible failure.
I've been measuring my trading discipline for the last 189 trading days.
The first month was a visible failure.
Every trading book...
Every YouTube video...
Every trading coach...
says the same thing:
"Be disciplined."
But what does that actually mean?
- Follow your rules?
- Trade less?
- Stop moving your stop?
- Stop revenge trading?
- Stop overtrading?
And how do you even know if your discipline is improving?
After years of making the same mistakes—and after quitting the 9–5 that I hated—I knew I had to do something different.
So I drew my own rule calendars by hand.
Every trading day I tracked 5 rules.
🟢 Follow the rule.
🔴 Break the rule.
At first it was mostly red.
Then, slowly, things started changing.
More green.
Fewer red X's.
But then the yellow X's started appearing.
Those yellow X's became the most interesting part of the experiment.
