The next arc won't be the Dark Continent.(In English, Sorry for the portugese version).
Many fans are excited about the potential next arc—the Dark Continent arc—but I don't believe that will be the next arc, and not the final one.
I’ve noticed that the main focus of fan speculation is the Dark Continent, but everyone ends up forgetting about the rest of the world.
I took a look at the *Hunter x Hunter* universe and realized there is so much left to explore—from the other V6 nations and criminal organizations to the potential assassin clans that likely exist in that world. I’m going to break this down into topics, so get ready to dive into the post.
POTENTIAL HUNTERS STRONGER THAN NETERO
One thing I feel needs much more exploration is the group of Hunters stronger than Netero—the ones he mentioned at the start of this current arc. I don't believe the current lineup heading to the Dark Continent (the Kakin royal family, Kakin mafia groups, Kurapika, the Phantom Troupe, Hisoka, and Beyond Netero) will be enough to go head-to-head with the Dark Continent. Therefore, we need more story arcs to introduce and develop those other Hunters; establishing this foundation of extremely powerful individuals is crucial so that we can eventually have an arc where all of them head to the Dark Continent together.
I actually believe that the majority of these Hunters are from Saherta; since Saherta is inspired by the United States—which is the leading global power in both the real world and the *Hunter x Hunter* universe—it stands to reason that a large portion of them would hail from there (I even wonder if these Hunters might belong to the same group Netero was part of during his prime, though I admit that seems a bit unlikely). We’ve seen this play out in the latest arc, where the focus has shifted to the V6 nations; the Kakin Empire, in particular, is getting the most attention regarding its Nen users, and we are witnessing the powers of the princes and mafia leaders, so I believe this assessment is correct.
The global organization of criminal groups in the same niche as the Phantom Troupe and the "global organization of assassin clans" in the same niche as the Zoldyck family.
(I don't think you'll fully agree with this point, but to me, it makes a lot of sense and is really good.)
As I mentioned in the previous topic, in the world of *Hunter x Hunter*, there can be Hunters stronger than Netero himself; this applies not only to Hunters but also to criminal organizations and groups of assassins.
One thing that strikes me as odd is how the Phantom Troupe is portrayed in the story; the series depicts them as if they were the only criminal group of Nen users. But are they really the only ones? Aren't there other groups out there? Is Togashi presenting them this way to reveal something that will vastly expand the *Hunter x Hunter* underworld? Just think about it...
If they were the only criminal group in *Hunter x Hunter*, they should have been wiped out long ago—which doesn't really make all that much sense.
The same applies to the Zoldyck family; I know you won't believe this, but could it be that they aren't the only ones? Could there be other "assassin clans" in the world of *Hunter x Hunter*?
My theory is basically this: there are two other global organizations besides the Hunter Association and the Mafia association—namely, the global association of criminal groups and the global association of assassin clans.
And these criminal groups within the association likely originate primarily from Saherta; if we consider the sociology of the United States and how it inspired the creation of the country of Saherta in *Hunter x Hunter*, it makes sense that most of these groups would come from there—given that the United States is the birthplace of numerous gangs, criminal organizations, and the like. That makes a lot of sense to me.
I believe that by the end of this Succession War arc, something will happen—like a revelation or a plot twist involving the Phantom Troupe—that explains why they massacred the Kurta Clan. Did they wipe out the clan as a favor to some "organization"? Given the theory that the Kurta Clan hails from the Dark Continent, perhaps the leader of this hypothetical organization wanted to use them to gain access to something from there. I know Tserriednich currently holds the Scarlet Eyes, but beyond being a sociopath who collects bodies, could he secretly be linked to this organization? Aside from the Phantom Troupe's desire to hunt down Hisoka, maybe they want the eyes to secretly fulfill a deal with Tserriednich without the Kakin royal family finding out; that is something I’m really hoping to see in the story. It would be a development that—once again—delays the full-scale exploration of the Dark Continent in favor of focusing on this specific plot thread.
Another theory of mine—which I believe links to this organization of assassin clans—is that the Kurta clan must have been part of this organization, or perhaps part of a network of criminal groups; consider this hypothesis:
There are some mysteries surrounding the Kurta Clan; we don't know where they come from or what niche they occupy in that world. We don't know if they are just an ordinary group living in harmony or a group secretly involved with an organization of assassin clans—that’s something about them that strikes me as odd...
A greater spotlight on Leorio and the return of the original protagonists.
It was recently confirmed in the manga that Gon and Killua will eventually return, sparking numerous theories about Gyro making a comeback in the story. I believe they will play a major role in the upcoming arcs, but I feel Leorio will take center stage even more than Gon and Killua—something that will further delay the journey to the Dark Continent.
What might happen at the end of the current arc.
I have a theory that you guys might think is crazy, but I believe it could happen.
My theory is that, as they near the Dark Continent, something might happen—perhaps a revelation regarding *Hunter x Hunter*'s global criminal organization. It could be that a criminal group from Kakin (and remember, the King of Kakin is taking all sorts of people there, including criminals) causes massive chaos on the ship. This situation might spill over into a V6 nation, leading them to rescue everyone on board and setting the stage for arcs that highlight the organizations I mentioned. The country that might save them is Saherta—if this scenario plays out...
But it’s possible that everything I mentioned could happen on the Dark Continent instead of the Black Whale ship; in that scenario, a creature from the Dark Continent—perhaps something like the Chimera Ants—might show up, get involved in the whole situation, and cause even more chaos.
So, guys, what do you think?
