Current account or business account?

I am a recent graduate so I have had a Santander student edge current account for a while.

I make between £500-750 a month from science writing projects, which I started doing from July 2026. This is technically self-employed (contractor) work, and I'm unsure whether I need a brand new business bank account?

If I need a business bank account, what are your recommendations for a business bank account with zero/minimal fees with a major high street bank (e.g. HSBC, Lloyds, Santander, Natwest)?
