Wait, is AI gonna be a judge now? How does that work with lawyers and stuff?

I just read that UNESCO is doing something with AI and courts in Africa for gender equality. But like, can a robot even understand laws and feelings? And how is that supposed to make things more fair for women? I'm so confused, someone explain in simple words please.
