Please tell me I am not the only one heavily disappointed in the book ending.
I just finished reading the book series today and.. wow. Throughout the entire series I have been fascinated, every book has been wonderful, every chapter seemed dutifully important and well written. What a masterpiece this series really is. The writing is amazing, magnificent and lovely. I truly have no complaints.. until about chapter 11 of book 5.
For a series that had become my all time favorite, boasting truly wonderful storytelling and character arcs, I am appalled at how bad this ending was. I mean.. I cannot think of anything worse for the story than how this ended. It would be hard to write a worse ending! .
Geralt and yennefer "die" in the most senseless, pointless, unimportant way, to a random dude with a pitchfork, yennefer dying for geralt for nothing. Ciri sends them to.. the afterlife? Fucking KING ARTHUR?? What??
Then ciri is either, A) going to be talked into having a child with a random, which literally all the books were about working AGAINST that and now she's.. Just gonna go do it with someone else?? Or B) she ALSO ENDS UP IN ARTHUR'S WORLD???
This ending upsets me to absolutely no end. I do not understand how a 10/10 series drops the ball so ridiculously hard that the ending is barely a 1/10. Ruined the entire series for me sadly.
