Trading bots

I am new to trading, and I am running a bot.

I have some questions:

- Do price ranges matter other than for profit, or loss management? Does the price range I set have an effect on the bots performance?

- When running bots, do you typically run them for a period or do you constantly check, change parameters etc. or just set and forget kind of?
