Should I?

Is it a good or bad idea to send an email tomorrow to the principal of a school I did a demo and interview for? Last week I did a demo and interview at a school I substituted at for a while. I felt good about the interview and demo lesson and the principal said I should hear back from him by end of next week(this week now). Or should I assume he went with someone else for the position?
