I like to write lengthy posts and write a lot. Anyone else?

🌿high🌿 functioning

I've been writing ever since I was a child and I feel like I cannot say everything I need to say, unless I write out a long and detailed post about something I want to share.

I've had a certain writing style, since I was a child. I list details, facts. I cannot say all I need to say in three or four sentences. I just like to write a lot and find it comforting. I also like to read very detailed writing that isn't short. I like reading. The longer the post is, the more likely I am to click on it and read it. But I know everyone is different and some people like reading short and simple posts. In fact, I see posts like that get lots of upvotes. And then there are longer posts that get upvotes

Sometimes, I am told my posts are too long to read. Or that I talk about the same thing often

If I am interested about a specific topic, I often write about it. Not everyone has to like what I write. The important thing is how I feel about it. It's my truth. And my experience. Not everyone has to agree

You are allowed to have an opinion. You are allowed to talk about something you've been through. You are allowed to vent if you are having a difficult time. If other people make you feel bad for having an opinion because it is different from their opinion, it doesn't mean your opinion is wrong or not worth hearing

There are people who tend to have a "group think" mindset and they gravitate towards those with the exact same thoughts and opinions as their opinions. I think this is called herd mentality, when a group of people with the same opinions are more likely to bond, and then the one person with a different opinion is the one likely to be cast out from the group

So this was what it felt like in high school for me. I was quiet. Shy. The other kids, the popular kids, were loud and talked a lot. They also shared a lot of the same interests and personalities. They had a "group think" mindset. So I was automatically bullied and outcast because I happened to be different. Being quiet and shy wasn't cool at my high school. I had lots of different hobbies and interests, writing and being creative, yet the other kids never asked about it or took the time to care. If I had been more like them, I likely would have had more friends. But I never changed myself, or my values, just to be popular. I got bullied because I was different. People who bully others or ignore them because they are different are people with their own insecurities that they won't deal with

When I get downvoted for sharing something I have been through, it always surprises me. But then I realize not everyone in life is going to like or agree with what you say. And that's okay

I've learned not to take things, like downvoting on Reddit, personally. At the end of the day, the person downvoting you doesn't really know you and some people just downvote to dismiss your words. The less you care about things like that, the better you will feel

I write to relate to others and to share my experience. I do write a lot. It's just how my brain works and how I deal with painful emotions or a bad day. To sit down and organize my thoughts, through writing

I like making notes, lists, and schedules

As a child, I created and designed my own books, by hand. These were done in my free time, not for school. I liked thinking of the idea and the title. I never got bored of it. I made my first book at age 9, and ever since then, writing has always been a special interest

I loved writing classes in school. Creative writing was my favorite class

I like writing poetry too

I often can express my thoughts and emotions better, when I write them down

I am very quiet in general

But my mind isn't quiet at all and I am always thinking up a new piece of writing

Writing can be a great way to be creative, even if you never share everything you write with others

When you share your writing with others, it is a way to feel a little less alone

Autism can make you feel misunderstood. Sensory issues, anxiety, and being alone can be hard to deal with

But by sharing something with others, it's a way to relate and feel less alone
