Help me understand Virgo man

So there is this guy, whom I have been chatting in person whenever we run into each other. He has a huge smile wheb he sees me. There is chemistry and mutual interest. But things we talk about are surface level, and casual. Sometimes he does tell me random stuff about his family, or his life. He hols the door for me when he sees me walking towards him. He tried helping me with a work related stuff once because I couldn't figure it out. He seems a bit nervous at times but also stoic. He seems rather reserved if not shy in general. Keeps it to himself.

Here is the CATCH, he initiated a convo after seeing my story but ghosted me since then. However, he did talk to me when he saw me in person and hinted at me that he just got out of a relationship. So when I asked he confirmed its been 3 months. After that the convo was casual, and I didn't bring up the ghosting. But I decided to pull back because I feel like I will end up getting hurt but at the same time I like him and I liked our interactions. It's been 3 weeks, we only run into each other once a week. And I grew cold towards him. I don't smile like i used to. There was this one day I ignored him fully. And when we cane across each other, he had a weak smile and kinda waved me off. Next week when I saw him, we both gave each other a stare. He seems like he might be interested to talk whenever I get near but I am being closed off tbh (meaning I don't look his way or j am doing my own thing). I don't know how to navigate, I just know I should be more open and drop the withdrawal. What's your take plz?

Also, I will be going abroad in 2 months. And he knows that because I told him in previous conversation.
