China Eastern Airlines Checked Baggage — Do they strictly measure dimensions (168cm)? & Pooling weight for groups?
Hi everyone,
I'm flying with China Eastern Airlines soon with a group of friends/family and have two quick questions regarding their checked baggage enforcement at the counter:
- Luggage Dimensions: Do check-in agents strictly measure the linear dimensions (L + W + H) of suitcases with a tape measure, or do they only care if it fits standard suitcase sizes and stays under the weight limit? My suitcase total linear dimension is 168 cm / 66 in (10 cm over the 158 cm / 62 in standard limit).
- Weight Pooling / Group Sharing: If we are flying together on the same booking reservation, does China Eastern allow us to pool or share our weight allowances? (For example: If Person A only uses 18 kg out of their 23 kg allowance, can Person B use the remaining 5 kg fortheir bag?)
