It can be done
I came here to not only thank everyone here that has imparted wisdom and experiences to people like me and helped us tremendously through this very difficult process but also to try and instill some hope in my fellow veterans. I made a claim for OSA but was previously denied trying to connect it directly to mental health issues. I decided to report my allergies and try to use that as a starting point to appeal my denied claim and... It worked. I built a full complete claim packet with tons of evidence including photos of my VA prescribed CPAP and serial number, the Nexus letter from my VA sleep doctor, a statement in support of my claim and some additional documents. I was scheduled for a c&p exam but had to cancel that due to being outside of the USA and tried to reschedule it near me and low and behold they never even rescheduled it I just randomly received a notification that I had a decision letter ready and I was completely shocked they just took my information at face value and finally approved my claim. If anyone is struggling out there, you aren't alone. I've been fighting with the VA for years now and I just want to try and instill some hope that things will work out and it can be done. Once again, thank you to everyone that helped me along the way I really appreciate everything and to anyone still fighting, keep fighting you got this.
