My group plays games sloooowwwww. How do you speed up your group?

I love my game group, but my god do we play games slowly.

It doesn't even seem to matter what we're playing. Somehow a game that should take 90 minutes turns into a 3-hour commitment. Eclipse take us like 5-6 hours, that game should be like 3.

I don't want to start putting people on a chess clock or make game night feel rushed, but there has to be a middle ground between "take your time" and watching someone contemplate their turn like they're negotiating a peace treaty.

Anyone successfully sped up a chronically slow group without killing the vibe? What actually worked?

We do chat A lot, i think a lot of our issues comes from the fact we lose track of whose turn it is, and then we also ahve a lot of people that dont think about their turn until its well there turn. So while ill be done in 1-2 minutes they are taking like 5+. Don't get me wrong, we ahve fun, but dang i wish there was more play time for the amount of time we invest.
