(CA) Previous tenant left a TV mount on the wall, terrified to take it down

The last tenant left a TV wall mount right in the middle of my living room wall. It’s pretty annoying because I use a projector and the mount blocks part of the screen.

I want to unscrew it, but I’m zero percent handy with tools. Really scared of messing up the drywall and leaving big holes. My landlord is super stingy about the deposit and will definitely charge me for damages.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Should I just leave it and disguise it, or is there a safe way to remove it? Or should I ask my landlord? Just worried they’ll ignore me lol.
