Just broke up and worried about depressed ex
Feeling guilty/fear/anxiety
I broke up with my ex. Our whole relationship has been me feeling like a crisis counselor (4 years) on call. Not that ive been great, I suffer too. For the past few years, ive just been talking her down from one crisis to the next. Barely any breaks. About a month ago, it became too much. I had to break up with her because I genuinely started getting panic attacks seeing her every text. It was highly alarming, distressing stuff and it overwhelmed me. I broke up and felt relief. Thing is, im incredibly worried about her and her mental health. I would feel guilty if she hurt herself or ended it. She did contact me post breakup but it was to tell me she was in the hospital for a week getting treatment, then we had more casual conversations after. I know I shouldn't be watching her every message but her last message to me was about 3 days ago. She just expressed relief that a family member of mine was alright (separate thing) said talk later and a hug (virtual). Thing is she's always online on discord and her not being so is strange. Maybe im being weird, damn. Im just worried for the worst and feel guilty. We live 3 hours apart and most of our relationship is text based. It got to the point where she couldn't leave her room, shower or go outside. I feel like a terrible person and im very scared. Im depressive and I also have dissociative identity disorder and the relationship was just sending everything into over drive. Shes mentioned not wanting to be alive, but not post break up. What can I do? I feel like im the one who was keeping us both afloat. She severed all her connections but me, while I encouraged her to have a good social net and not just rely on me.
