Isn’t it strange…

Isn’t it strange that Mao Mao is the exact type preferred by the previous emperor? Yes, I realize that is a rather dark take but she is someone who looks very young, especially with her hair up (like when at the feast where Jinshi had to wear that mask).

I’m just wondering if it is almost symbolism in some way? Used by the creator of the whole series to mark the drastic tastes and changes. And maybe a hint of who Jinshi really is. Now DO NOT take it as me saying Jinshi is a perv, I am not saying that at all. Especially since he is of similar age of Mao Mao. I just thought it was an interesting take, especially when you compare the previous emperor, the current emperor, and Jinshi.
