Diagnosed w/HSV1

Welp I was diagnosed with Ghsv1 and it has been hard for me many people say it is common I can’t help but feel terrible because I did everything right I got std testing before engaging with my new partner I was monogamous and yet I am still here with an std my partner and I are no longer together but it just feels so unfair because they are asymptomatic and the doctor said that because they don’t have lesions it’s safe to say they don’t have it yet I’m stuck carrying this burden I feel like my life will never be the same for the rest of my life anytime I get attention I will have to worry about possibly disclosing my status how do you all cope with this?
