To what extent can I lie to my students

It’s slight inspired by the™️ rita pierson speech, but I was thinking about telling my students we (the grade level teachers) got to choose our students like the NFL draft and I fought to get my roster because they’re the best students with the most potential.

I teach 6th grade. Is that a believable and acceptable lie?
