Term baby needed CPAP after coming off
Hi everyone,
My baby boy was born at 39+2 weeks. After birth, he needed CPAP to help with his breathing. He started off at 8 pressure and came down to 5 cmH₂O pressure on 2nd day and 21% oxygen, which I understand is room air.
The doctors tried taking him off CPAP, and he managed for about three hours. However, they then put him back on a mask with CPAP at 5 pressure.
Has anyone had a term baby who needed CPAP, came off it, and then had to go back on? How long did your baby eventually need respiratory support, and did the doctors explain what caused the breathing difficulty?
