Can I get my I-163 medical exam in military base for free (or reduced price)?

Immigrant Medical Exam

Hello everyone! I recently married my fiancé on a K-1 visa. He's on active duty, stationed with the U.S. Air Force.

When I did my medical exam back in my home country, I opted not to complete full vaccination (I'm technically vaccinated, but the doctor wouldn't officialize it due to lack of translated records). So now I need to complete the I-693 and finish my vaccinations here.

According to USCIS, any doctor/physician at a military facility can perform this exam.

I'm hoping to hear from other dependents (DEERS-enrolled, using TRICARE) who've been through this process. A few questions:

  1. Do we have to pay out of pocket? Will military doctors even be familiar with the I-693 process and be willing to do it?
  2. Are the additional vaccines covered, or is that also out of pocket?

My spouse isn't very familiar with this process either, and what I've found online is mixed. Some sources say the I-693 isn't covered by TRICARE and has to be paid out of pocket; others say otherwise. Would really appreciate hearing from anyone!
