Dress form yay nay

I’m pretty much a noob when it comes to sewing. That being said I freaking love my machine. I’m on the smaller side and I buy all my clothes second hand so none of my clothes fit well, I’ve tailored so many of my clothes to fit me and I wear my whole closet so much more. So that being said I love my machine and all she has to offer me.
Recently I’ve started messing around with garment making. It’s just hard for me to visualize these things without it being physically on my body but that gets pretty annoying pinning it on and off. I wanna get a dress form, but I’ve seen a lot of people say beware cause it can end up just being an expensive coat rack. The adjustable ones seem really cool as I can make it my measurements and have a body double.
Anyways, just looking to see what people think- how often they use theirs and if it’s a worthy investment to make in my noob level.
