Got a new 3Ds XL, It has luma3d but nothing else. What do I do?

I read the wiki, and couldnt find anything on this. Please redirect me if I'm wrong, thank you.

While reading how to install homebrew and all the other stuff I need, I saw that I needed to put boot files into the luma3d folder, but how do I do that if luma3d is installed on the internal memory? When I put an SD card inside, will the files appear on my SD card? Will I have to "re-hack" it entirely? I'm very new to this, I apologize if it sounds dumb lol
